|
The Colloid and Interfacial Science Group at the University of Bristol are primarily interested in the fundamentals of adsorption and self-assembly. To enhance current and proposed research activities in this area funds are requested to support the purchase of a spectroscopic ellipsometer. Programmes of research that would be enhanced or facilities by the acquisition of such an instrument include; investigations of polymers adsorbed on carbon, studies of diamond films, characterisation of polymer chains at liquid-liquid interfaces; investigations of electrode surfaces modified with semiconductor nanoparticles and studies of surfactants and liquid-crystals at the air-water interface.
