Summary on Grant Application Form |
July in Edinburgh offers the opportunity of an exciting confluence of researchers in biomimetic ultrasound, in that Dr Rolf Mueller is available to visit Dr Hallam's group for a month between his post-doctoral work in Roman Kuc's group and his return to Tuebingen to start his own laboratory. This has led to a proposal that Professor Peremans visit Edinburgh for that same month. We are organising a Workshop on Biomimetic Ultrasound on 21-22 July to capitalise on these visits. During Professor Peremans' visit we shall further develop the electronics and software associated with the Edinburgh Biomimetic Sonarhead and pursue research into efficient cochlear filtering using the upgraded equipment. This proposal requests funding to support Professor Peremans' visit and some of the expenses associated with the Workshop, in particular the cost of inviting Dr Altes from San Diego to the workshop.
