Summary on Grant Application Form |
The establishment of a Network in Aerospace Manufacturing is proposed. The Network will encourage the generation of Novel ideas and concepts, together with their definition, exploration, and exploitation, that will add value and dimension to both existing and new research and enable UK manufacturing enterprises to adapt and evolve in response to the business and manufacturing challenges of the Millennium Enterprise. The initial Network has been designed to represent a diverse range of academic and industrial interests and disciplines; to provide routes for dissemination and exploitation; and to influence the future direction of research in this area through common membership with Foresight Panels, EPSRC Colleges, and EU and other international spheres of interest in manufacturing systems evolution. Underpinned by the facilities and organisation the Next Generation Manufacturing Enterprises Network, and the Lean Aircraft Initiative the Network has immediate access to a multi-sector industrial base and mechanism for dissemination and technology transfer.
