Summary on Grant Application Form |
We propose to design, synthesise and demonstrate macromolecular transponders for sensitive in-vivo imaging. In the preferred application these polymeric probes will passively accumulate at tumour sites. Their pH responsive animation will cause them to hypercoil in the relatively acidic regions of tumours, and in endosomes of tumour cells. The incorporation of multiple near-IR FRET Cy-dye monomers within the backbone of the polymer will provide a highly sensitive and environmentally responsive probe that can be imaged through bodily tissues, so improving optical detection.EngProg\
