Summary on Grant Application Form |
To design suitable finite element and finite volume schemes or combinations of the same, for dealing with viscoelastic problems that manifest dominant convection and possess non-trivial solution-dependent source terms. A semi-Lagrangian implementation with cell-centred staggered grid FV methods will be contrasted against a cell-vertex triangular mesh FV schemes with fluctuation distribution. The various formulations will consider the following issues:a. suitability of full FV system discretisation as opposed to a hybrid version;b. use of structured or unstructured grids; contrast between quadrilateral and triangular cells; selection of variable location involving staggered, cell-vertex or cell-centred;c. treatment of flux and source terms;d. Lagrangian or Eulerian scheme choices;e. application to model (analytical) and benchmark problems;f. validation against experiments.EngProg\
