Summary on Grant Application Form |
The proposed 36 month programme aims to design, fabricate and demonstrate entirely new classes of photonic crystal circuits and devices. The programme integrates four separate research areas in which Southampton has significant standing: microfabrication, new optical materials, optical characterisation, and computational modelling. This ambitious programme aims to combine our strengths in these research areas to significantly advance the state of the art with regard to functional, and practical photonic crystal systems.
