Summary on Grant Application Form |
The proposal is for a twenty four month research project. The aim of the current proposal is to develop and implement an action research methodology and a continuous improvement change programme to derive a good practise framework, and hence ensure that retail refurbishment programmes are formulated and delivered effectively. The Good Practise framework will be derived from a combination of literature, longitudinal pilot-based continuous improvement programmes within each collaborating retail client and validated outcomes across collaborators and from wider retail client and construction industry inputs. The current proposal builds on a pilot study entitled A Scoping Study to Develop Good Practise Framework for Retail Client Refurbishment Programmes (GR/M72548). The scoping study was completed on retail clients who are committed to the current proposal. Construction supply chain members have provided complimentary inputs into the scoping study. The proposal is considered timely, since the retail sector is going through major change and novel, since the scoping study has demonstrated that limited, if any, research has been conducted in this area. The proposal proposes a range of dissemination and exploitation routes.
