Summary on Grant Application Form
It is proposed to develop a floating metal gate TFT suitable for incorporation into an 'active' array, the immobilisation chemistries to permit attachment of oligonucleotides and protein-binding ligands in defined devices and all the associated read/write and readout circuitry to process signals from individual components of the array. A model system for detecting gene and protein expression will be used to demonstrate proof-of-concept of the active matrix array. The proposal capitalises on access to state-of-the-art TFT technology available through the collaboration with Seiko-Epson.
