Summary on Grant Application Form |
The proposed multidisciplinary and industry requirement led MSc programme is focused to provide the core IT skill and experience, and relevant technical and business knowledge necessary for product realisation today and tomorrow within the engineering industry. The Course will create a new generation of technical managers and consultants for the industry. The proposed training package will incorporate both full-time and part-time MSc courses (with PgD routes), and a comprehensive programme of Continuing Professional Dev. (CPD). For distance learning, five modules will be developed as one-week `Virtual Short Courses'. The Course will include 10 taught modules (40%), a group project (20%) and an individual project (40%). Experts from Industry will also teach in the Course and supervise projects. The delivery of the modules is novel, including pre-module preparation through a web based 'learnin centre', and post-module stud through 'Industry Days'.
