Summary on Grant Application Form |
Funding is requested for a one year full time MSc course. The proposal offers students the opportunity to study a wide variety of topics in depth with dedicated experts. The course has six areas of specialisation with two pathways through it, the standard pathway and the research pathway. The latter is new and builds on the strengths of our current Advanced MSc course. Emphasis is placed on the foundational areas and the course objective is to give students a critical understanding of emerging trends and research, as well as an awareness of how these techniques can be adapted in industrial applications. All students will acquire competence in up-to-date techniques, which will lead to enhanced professional capabilities. Students will spend one-third of the time on an individual project, often involving informal collaboration with industrial contacts of staff. Students following the research pathway will attend a course in research skills. Successful students will receive an MSc degree from the University of London and a Diploma from Imperial College.
