Summary on Grant Application Form |
The aims of the Course are to provide a basic training in the techniques of the Numerical Solution of Differential Equations and their industrial applications for graduates in mathematics or those with sufficient mathematical background, in order for them to become researchers immediately useful to industry. Industrial Modelling is an integral component of the Course. The Course benefits from the Department's strength in numerical analysis. Objectives for MSc and Postgraduate Diploma students are: to develop research skills and critical understanding of the subject as a foundation for further study or application; to enhance their skills in problem solving and using the literature to identify and understand material relevant to particular applications; to gain enhanced perspectives of the needs of professional practice in their field; to gain transferable skills enabling them to present technical material both orally and in writing.
