Summary on Grant Application Form |
Recent policy changes have produced growing demand for broadly educated infrastructure asset managers with appropriate technical knowledge of construction maintenance combined with financial and other aspects of whole-life management. This proposal is a response to that demand, aimed at providing a suite of intensive courses as a basis for a new full time/part time MSc (Eng) degree in Infrastructure Asset Maintenance and Management. The MTP will cover technical developments in the rapidly evolving area of lifetime maintenance whilst providing state-of-the art treatment of the management of infrastructure assets. The majority of the courses will be created by modifying and enhancing modules derived from existing Masters Programmes. The training to be provided will meet the needs of graduates and employers in various sectors of civil engineering and building maintenance, becoming self-financing in 5 years.
