Summary on Grant Application Form |
We propose a feasibility study of using complex electrical properties (100 Hz to 2 MHz) and frequency dispersion as a potential means for reservoir wettability determination. We will use well characterised natural and synthetic rock samples in water-wet, intermediate, mixed-wet and oil-wet conditions, in order to quantify the effect of frequency dispersion for a range of rock and fluid properties. Theoretical modelling of frequency dispersion will be carried out using equivalent circuits and pore network model (NETSIM) incorporating pore geometry and wettability information. The numerical model will be compared against effective-medium-theory based analytical models to relate wettability to frequency dispersionEngProg\
