Summary on Grant Application Form |
Balsa is a language and framework for synthesising asynchronous systems by compiling into a set of handshake circuits. A prototype version exists. It is proposed to improve the efficiency of compiled datapaths by developing datapath extraction and composition tools in order to eliminate the control overhead associated with current Balsa generated circuits. The project also aims to reduce the problems of timing closure suffered by current single-rail, bundled-data implementations.
