Summary on Grant Application Form |
The programme involves carrying out interband optical spectroscopy at low temperature and at high magnetic field on rings which have been self-assembled out of InAs on GaAs. Photoluminescence and transmission spectroscopy will be carried out on ensembles of quantum rings. The inevitable inhomogeneous broadening in the transitions will be then removed by designing and implementing a confocal microscope for experiments on single rings.
