Lattice parameter variations and lattice tilts in individual grains of polycrystalline CVD diamond will be measured using synchrotron reciprocal-space mapping techniques. From such measurements, strain (and strain gradients) will be calculated and any correlations with crystallite size and orientation will be investigated. Specimens grown under different conditions will be compared.
