Summary on Grant Application Form |
At Surrey, there is a large number of individuals, in engineering, the physical sciences and mathematics, whose primary research involves the computational modelling of fluids or materials. The Surrey Numerics Network is being formed to provide an efficient way of promoting the exchange of ideas and fostering collaborations among researchers. This network will provide added value over the individuals alone by: (a) encouraging translation of ideas between seemingly distinct research areas; (b) pooling hardware, software and algorithmic ideas; (c) providing cutting edge algorithmic input from mathematics to engineering.Specifically the Network will have (a) regular seminars; (b) a central website with pooled information, news and software; (c) two major meetings; and most important of all, it will incubate a range of distinct projects, to prepare them for full-fledged EPSRC-Indus
