Summary on Grant Application Form |
In this programme we will develop a Navier-Stokes code for the prediction of environmental loads on offshore structures under the effect of current and free surface motion. To achieve this objective we will combine the expertise from a previous managed programme in Marine CFD which utilises UK knowledge in Navier-Stokes, free-surface, turbulence and inviscid modelling. Within the scope of the current application we will specifically focus on the coupling of a viscous inner Navier-Stokes solver with an inviscid outer solution which uses industrially standard methods. This project will capitalise on extensive knowledge in Navier-Stokes simulation at Imperial College with strong research activity of free surface inviscid solutions at University College of London.EngProg\
