Summary on Grant Application Form |
Two one day meetings about three months apart for two representatives from each of the 27 EPSRC supported EQUAL project (a PI and an RA). Both meetings will act as a forum for exchange of work in progress, networking, and a number of community building activities will be etablished (for example through workshops, syndicates and focus groups). After the first meeting a number of initiatives will be pursued by volunteers for presentation at the second meeting (for example, proposals for: i) linking the group to major policy influencing organisations with an interest in older people and those people with physical and mental impairment, ii) providing leadership of an area of important national and international concern iii) a formal EPSRC sponsored network). The second meeting will build on these proposals so as to create a self-confident and self-directed community with a clear mission and understanding of its contribution to society through building on a foundation of high quality scientific and engineering research. A prime objective is to ensure that a closely networked community is established.
