Summary on Grant Application Form
This proposal concerns a potential application of the batch oscillatory-baffled crystalliser to the improvment of product quality of pharmaceuticals.Paracetamol has been selected as a model system. The programme is aimed at exploring control of kinetic processes and character of the product under different conditions of oscillatory-flow of solution. Corellation between the modelling of hydrodynamics via experimental data and the character of small crystals will be investigated. Success would open the prospect of scaling-up and enhancing the quality of a wide range of pharmaceutical and speciality products.
