Summary on Grant Application Form |
The proposal is directed at establishing a programme of meetins (week-long Study Groups and shorter Workshops) at which multidisciplinary teams of mathematical and biomedical researchers address problems of current medical interest, using the tools of mathematical modelling. As well as providing significant insight into the specific problems that are studied, the Study Groups will provide the participants with direct experience of the efficacy of mathematics in the study of a wide range of medical problems, and can be expected to open up entirely new fields of mathematical medicine. The meetings will also provide training in appropriate techniques, as well as being the forum for the development of numerous interdisciplinary collaborations. such collaborations will be fostered through the judicious choice of Workshop topics.
