Summary on Grant Application Form |
We propose to use the GREAT spectrometer to investigate the structure of neutron deficient nuclei in the medium-heavy mass region using alpha, proton and beat decay tagging in conjunction with conversion electron and gamma ray spectroscopy techniques. The main focus of this work will be to study the rotational and single particle energy levels of proton rich nuclei in the light rare earth and lead regions. An important part of this work will be to help build and commission the GREAT spectrometer, which will be used in conjunction with a recoil separator and gamma ray array provided by other members of the international collaboration.
