Summary on Grant Application Form |
This research project has three major objectives:1. Development of a suitable coating protocol for inorganic colloidal substrates such as silica sols.2. Investigate the feasibility of preparing metal-clad latexes by using the redox chemistry of conducting polymer overlayers for the controlled electroless deposition of metallic overlayers from aqueous solution.3. Collaboration with Dr. Chehimi's group in France in order to characterise the surface compositions of these conducting polymer-coated sols and metal-clad latexes using X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy.
