Summary on Grant Application Form |
The known symmetries of integrable massive 1+1D quantum field theories do not give a full description of their rich structure, which must involve new mathematics. The proposal is to appoint a PDRA who will make progress towards this mathematics as described above. This will involve some or all of (a) - (f) above, in the context of Toda Field theories, sigma models, Gross-Neven (Fermionic) models and their generalisations, and possibly their applications in condensed-matter theory or 3+1-D field theory.
