Summary on Grant Application Form |
This Visiting Fellowship Application is to cover travel and subsistence for a period of three months for a visit by VV Bavula to Edinburgh to engage in joint research with TH Lenagan. The Visiting Fellow and the Principal Investigator will collaborate on research into calculating Krull dimension of Generalised Weyl Algebras and related algebras. Particular problems that will be investigated are:i) the invariant theory of an affine automorphism, and its application to Generalised Weyl Algebras;ii) the tensor Krull minimal property for Generalised Weyl Algebras and its application to Krull dimension calculations;iii) calculation of Krull dimension for iterated Generalised Weyl Algebras using several commuting automorphisms, and calculation of Krull dimension for Generalised Weyl Algebras constructed using a normal element rather than a central element of the base ring.
