Summary on Grant Application Form |
The aim of this project is to extend the recent pioneering theories of quantum information and quantum computation to quantum cipher systems. The quantum paradigm is different to the classical one and our objective is to determine whether the concepts of stream and block cipher, symmetric and asymmetric key cryptosystem, authentication and signature are apt. Important in this investigation will be the study of how cryptanalysis will operate and the determination of which cipher methods (old and new) are effective in the quantum paradigm.
