Summary on Grant Application Form |
The grant is to cover travel and subsistence expenses to enable the proposer to attend the Program on Noncommutative Algebra (1999-2000) at the Mathematical Sciences Research Institute in Berkeley, California. During the time spent at MSRI the proposer will work on research problems in the areas of quantum algebras, Krull dimension, invariant theory and growth of algebras. Particular problems that will be addressed include: proving a First Fundamental Theorem of (Co)-Invariant Theory for Quantum matrices; developing and then applying results in invariant theory to the computation of Krull dimension of Generalised Weyl Algebras over commutative polynomial algebras. The proposer will also take advantage of the presence of experts to expand his knowledge of noncommunicative algebraic geometry and quantum groups.
