Summary on Grant Application Form |
Complete and exploit the EXOGAM and VAMOS arrays at the SPIRAL accelerator at GANIL. These will then be used with beams of radioactive species to investigate the properties of nuclei far from stability. The work will concentrate on light and medium heavy nuclei and will study the structure of nuclei near or at the proton drip line using the techniques of gamma ray spectroscopy. Some complementary work will be carried out at other radioactive beam facilities (mini ball, GSI). An important part of this work is to build and commission the EXOGAM gamma ray spectrometer and the VAMOS residual nuclei spectrometer.
