Summary on Grant Application Form |
This programme relates to a recently successful European Union (COST) application. The COST programme aims to extend the Chemistry of aliphatic radicals; my contribution to that will involve a study of the behaviour of aliphatic radicals under radical-polar crossover reaction conditions. Specifically, the alkyl radicals will be generated via fragmentation reactions of o-alkylthioethyl benzenediazonium salts. The studies will aim to uncover the ground-rules which govern the reactions of aliphatic radicals with TTF+ and related-cations.
