Summary on Grant Application Form |
The overall aim of the project is to initiate and produce a clinical implementation of a new approach to the application of augmented reality to image guided surgery, following on from an already existing proof of concept. The research and development programme will include the investigation of a variety of techniques for patient to virtual patient registration, the real time tracking of viewer and surgical tools, the maintenance of a common co-ordinate system and the establishment of objective validation procedures.
