Summary on Grant Application Form |
During his UK visit, Dr. Kremeyer will perform numerical simulations of 2D supersonic wedge flow with nonstationary external heating, but not ionisation. He will collaborate with Nazarenko and Newell at Warwick University on the theoretical side of this project. Dr Kremeyer will work in close contact with experimental plasma aerodynamicists at BAe (Sowerby) and DERA (Farnborough) who will direct him toward computing their current experimentalists. Kremeyer will identify which plasma processes will have to be included into numerical modelling for realistic description of experimental results. New elements in numerical modelling approach of Kremeyer will include the vorticity generation, flow non-stationarity, instability and vortex dynamics. His numerical method, currently used for shock tube simulations, will be modified to compute the wedge flows.
