Summary on Grant Application Form
The research is concerned with quasilinear artical differential equations will be studied in the turbulent regime which means that 5 is very small and the right hand side of the equation (i.e., the forcing) is an order one random field. The goal of the research is to estimate from below and from above averaged characetristics of the solutions and to compare the resultswith asymptotic behaviour, predicted for these characteristics by some heuristic theories of turbulence. Of prime interest for the reserach will be the kolmogorov-Obukhow law which describes average energy spectrum of solutions. To achieve the goals technique from the theory of stochastic PDEs will be combined with methods with qualitive analysis of hamiltonian PDEs and their perturbations, developed by the grant's principal investigator.Deterministic non-random analogies of these problems also will be considered.
