Summary on Grant Application Form
The study of vector bundles on algebraic curves has been an important area of research in algebraic geometry for many years. The detailed structures arising from this study are also of interest in other areas of mathematics and in theoretical physics. This research aims at obtaining some new information on some of these structures combining techniques previously used by the investigator with those of the fellow. More precisely we shall look at moduli spaces of bundles of rank 2 over a singular curve of genus 2 and generalise results obtained by the investigator in the non-singular case. We shall also use techniques developed by the fellow to obtain a model for the Jacobian of any curve analogous to that known for hyperelliptic curves in terms of intersections of quadrics.
