Summary on Grant Application Form
The workshop will concentrate on analytic techniques for Hamiltonian mechanics and dynamical systems, and their applications to Hamiltonian PDE. Topics to be discussed include (a) quasi-periodic solutions of PDE (KAM theory), (b) Gibbs measures for PDE with applications to pattern formation, (c) development of high frequency oscillations in PDE using techniques from symplectic geometry (Gromovs capacity), (d) slow manifolds of solutions of PDE (Nekhorochevs capacity), (d) slow manifolds of solutions of PDE (Nekhorochevs theory of metastability).
