Summary on Grant Application Form |
The Vehicle Management Unit controls the flow of energy around the proposed Hybrid-Electric Vehicle. This work will develop a VMU capable of operating the vehicle in both 'on-road' and 'off-road' modes. The design of the VMU would be targeted at allowing a parallel hybrid vehicle to meet future legislative standards for exhaust emissions and fuel consumption (on-road) and also improving off-road traction. The approach taken will obtain maximum benefit from modelling alternative control strategies and then implementing these in code for evaluation on the vehicle.
