Summary on Grant Application Form |
We propose to study numerical method which extends the well-known least squares approach to the solution of partial differential equations to incorporate grid movement. We shall investigate suitable choices of functionals which allow the grids to adapt in order to optimise error estimates. In particular, we shall explore a paradox concerning grid movement for hyperbolic problems in the steady state time-dependent formulations.
