Summary on Grant Application Form |
The research project proposed here forms a practical extension of the studies which have been performed in the past few years by the proposers and the visitor in the framework of the composite materials, reinforced concrete and engineering fracture mechanics. The research will involve both theoretical and numerical investigations, in order to elucidate some important interfacial features concerned with FRP-concrete hybrid members. An essential objective is to identify the parameters that dominate the fracture transition at the interface, so that optimal design can be conducted parametrically on the basis of the results obtained.
