Summary on Grant Application Form |
The work will develop a method of model biochemical and cellular processes in the human body. These processes are responsible for a wide range of body functions and as such they need to be understood if the nations health is to be improved. The method involves the use of magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) to measure the blood flow through human blood vessels and hence identify regions of clinical significance. These regions will then be modeled computationally using the MRI data as input to the model. Incorporated into the computation will also be a biological model thereby allowing the biological processes in the imaged vessel to be investigated.
