Summary on Grant Application Form |
The highly effective anti-tumour agents vinblastine and vincristine are pseudo-dimeric alkaloids comprising a vindoline and a carboxyvelbanamine unit. This proposal suggests a new stereoselective route to these two component alkaloids by exploiting recently discovered free radical chemistry of the azide group.
