Summary on Grant Application Form |
Full exploitation of high density VLSI integrated circuits and laser diodes requires efficient dissipation of the heat they generate. Applications such as space-borne cryocoolers need lightweight microchannel heat exchangers. We propose a programme to use micromachining techniques to fabricate microchannel cooling structures to address these problems. The proposed technology has great potential for commercial exploitation.
