Summary on Grant Application Form |
Virtual reality walls and 3D displays require giga-Hertz data rates and resolutions an order of magnitude greater than normal. This project will demonstrate that such displays can be made by time-multiplexing a miniature digital silicon-addressed display with an optically addressed spatial light modulator. The result will prove a concept for the economic design of displays with properties far in advance of existing notions.
