Summary on Grant Application Form |
Barnards interacting Cognitive Subsystems framework provides a unified architecture for human cognition that builds models of information flow and resource use rather than attempting to simulate information processing. The architecture is predicted on a small set of general principles, and it is proposed to develop a production system application of ICS to model laboratory-style tasks in the domains of perception, attention and memory. This would provide a link between basic and applied cognitive psychology, as well as illustrating the benefits of a unified architecture integrating the findings of different fields within the discipline.
