|
The Medial Axis Transformation of a geometirc model provides a lower dimensional skeleton ofthe object, a measure of its local thick ness at any point and nformation on what parts of the object boundary are in geometric proximity. A series of potential applications in modelling designand feature recognition will be investigated. The aim is to identify new areas of collaborative research where the unique infomation provided by this property of the solid can be exploited.
