Summary on Grant Application Form
The research is aimed at the development of palladium-alloy composite membranes which will be suitable for the preparation of high purity hydrogen for application in fuel cells and for semiconductor processing. Such a membrane unit would overcome the purification problems which exist at present for these applications. Alternative methods of deposition of the palladium alloys onto the porous supports will be investigated. Particular attention will be directed to obtaining the required pinhole free systems.
