Summary on Grant Application Form |
The proposed research offers a solution to the flexible processing of powders within the pharmaceutical and food industries. The aim is to process current powders more efficiently and quickly, offer a quick changeover capability that can process new polymers. This aim is a major aim within pharmaceutical production. Two areas provide the focus for these aims firstly the investigation of the design and operation of a single vessel processor in terms of its functionality and flexibility, and secondly, to examine the effect that this solution would have on the current manufacturing process in terms of their supply chains. The latter will investigate the partnership in terms of the significant change required to realize the full potential of flexible processing.
