Summary on Grant Application Form |
We have an expanding programme of research on CVD diamond films with a wide variety of objectives. Characterisation of these films by micro-Raman spectroscopy is a vital part of several individual projects. We are also actively engaged in the use of micro-Raman spectroscopy in characterising epitaxal layers of GaN. We have demonstrated on borrowed instruments the fundamental utility of the micro-Raman technique and identified a number of points re fundamental scientific interest that we wish to study. We now need our own system to develop the exploratory work that we have done.
