Summary on Grant Application Form
This research is directed toward establishing methods for characterising the dynamix properties of homogeneous/braided reinforced materials under transient loads for a wide range of environmental conitions (-60C to 160c). The properties will be formulated such that they can be used for shock and vibration design/prediction in numerical procedures such as Finite Elements. using controlled shock tests at West Drayton will provide stern tests fot hte methods and will allow refinements to be made as the programme of research develops. Collaboration with the MoD and specified end-users will guarantee exploitation and dissemination fo the research findings.
