Summary on Grant Application Form |
The aim of this proposal is to establish a general strategy for the synthesis of polyrotaxanes via topological auxiliaries. The strategy is based upon the solvent-dependent translational isomerism of rotaxanated monomer precursors which are prepared by hydrogen bond-mediated self-assembly processes discovered at UMIST. The structure-property relationship of the resulting polyrotaxanes will also be investigated.
