Summary on Grant Application Form |
The proposed research is concerned with theoretical investigation of possible non-Fermi liquid behaviour for models of strongly correlated electron systems and the mechanisms of high/temperature superconductivity. We propose to investigate the compounds exhibiting this phenomenon by means of numerical stimulation data and techniques of statistical mechanics of critical phenomena. By calculating the spectrum of charge and spin excitations ad the electromagnetic linear -response functions we will examine the extent to which various models of strongly correlated electrons present a description of high temperature superconductors ad we will attempt to construct a microscopic theory based on the results of this investigation. The research will also investigate the possibility of non-Fermi liquid behaviour in the normal state by covering a wide range of effective models with explicit reference to all relevant experimental data.
