Novel Instrumentation to allow combined electrochemical quartz crystal microbalance and scanning microelectrode measurements will be constructed. This new approach will then be used to make in situ studies of changes in film thickness, density and viscoelastic properties which accompany electrochemical oxidation and reduction of composite conducting polymer and redox polymer films at electrode surfaces.
